That same sense of duty guided his 33-year career as a professional truck driver and union steward. Unlike career politicians who spend their lives in administrative offices, Jim understands the value of hard work, long hours, and keeping the American economy moving forward.
As Chair of the Senate Committee on Veterans Affairs and The Military, Jim brings his firsthand service experience to the Statehouse. He leads the charge to ensure Indiana’s service members, veterans, and their families receive the support, tax relief, and resources they have earned. His leadership is not rooted in political ambition, but in a proven track record of service to his nation and state.

From his active involvement as a member and former commander of Wadesville VFW Post 6576 to serving as a Eucharistic minister at St. Wendel Catholic Church, Jim’s faith, family, and community guide everything he does.
