Indiana State Senator Jim Tomes is a Republican legislator representing Senate District 49, which covers portions of southwestern Indiana. First elected in 2010, Tomes has been an advocate for conservative policies, particularly in the areas of Second Amendment rights, agriculture, and veterans’ affairs.

Born and raised in Indiana, Tomes has a background in farming and trucking, giving him firsthand experience with issues affecting rural communities.
